Timmy and Kelsey went to neighboring high schools, St. Charles North and Geneva, attended The University of Iowa while living in apartment buildings that faced one another, but did not officially meet until they both moved to Atlanta, GA one year after graduating college. They met at a popular bar in Buckhead, The Ivy, late one night in March of 2015 and became fast friends. It wasn't long before their friendship developed into something even better. Fast forward to March 1, 2019: Timmy popped the question on Kelsey’s late mother’s birthday, followed by a celebratory evening with both families.
They say if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. When Timmy & Kelsey were forced to postpone their original wedding day due to COVID-19, they were most heartbroken they were unable to get married on the day they had been planning to for over a year. Just two days before their original wedding day, their priest who was meant to marry them at Annunciation Catholic Church had called them. He understood how important it was for the two of them to be married, and he offered for them to still come to the church on the 28th to be married. While their families had to watch on Zoom video and there was no music or a crowd to cheer as they were pronounced husband and wife, it was still an extremely beautiful day. The most important part of it all was becoming husband and wife, and they are so grateful they were given that opportunity. Timmy & Kelsey celebrated their marriage by ordering tacos, margaritas, and late night pizza along with a lot of champagne. March 28 wasn't what they had planned, but it was perfectly imperfect. They can't wait to stand up in front of their family and friends this October to recite their vows and celebrate all together, but for now they are enjoying married life in their new apartment in Roscoe Village!
