TUPPS Brewery is a taproom located in an old grain mill in the Historic Mill District right down the street from the downtown McKinney area. The site was once a grain processing factory and grain storehouse that was in operation for over 120 years. TUPPS is a place for people to gather, relax, eat, drink, listen to live music and enjoy!
Hutchins BBQ is famous for its high-quality, traditional Texas barbecue, especially its brisket, which is wet-aged and slow-smoked for hours, paired with homemade sides and complimentary desserts, all served with exceptional, family-style hospitality, creating consistent quality and long lines that signify its popularity in the DFW area.
Union Bear is a great option for brunch, dinner, or drinks. It's centrally located and offers some great discounts during their Happy Hour, which is Monday through Friday 3pm to 6pm and everyday 9pm to close. If you check it out, be sure to order the UB Pretzel Bites as an appetizer.
Hop aboard at one of the McKinney trolley stops and take a ride through scenic downtown! Along the route, you'll find plenty of dining and boutique shopping. The trolley is free and travels a continuous route along sections of Louisiana Street, Virginia Street, Kentucky Street, Tennessee Street, and Lamar Street.
The State Fair of Texas runs for 3 weeks every Fall, and happens to be running during our wedding weekend. The State Fair of Texas is the largest state fair in the United States, drawing over 2 million visitors per year and is a ton of fun. The State Fairgrounds are approximately 40 minutes from McKinney. If you go, be sure to get a corny dog or turkey leg!
