Colombian Pesos, or COP. The best places to take out cash are ATMs. While there are cash exchanges all over, we recommend against them because the exchange rates are usually not as competitive. Credit cards are widely accepted. We recommend double checking whether your bank charges foreign transaction fees, and letting them know you will be travelling abroad to prevent your bank from freezing your card.
The only places you need to tip are hotels and restaurants. The tip percentage in restaurants is 10% and the waiter will usually ask you if gratuity can be included in the bill.
-There are authorized taxis at the airport. Make sure to ask for the official line to take one. (When you exit, you will see the line to take the official yellow cabs). -Uber can be used to get around the city, as well as cabs called from the hotel. We do not recommend to stop taxis in the street. -There will be organized transportation to and from events leaving from the EK and Salvio hotels -details will be in the program once you arrive.
Like any big city, you should be cautious when walking around. We recommend not to wear jewelry or fancy watches except for the wedding events. It is best to leave passports and important documents at the hotel and carry only a picture ID. As credit cards are accepted almost everywhere, there is no need to carry much cash.
Day temperature varies between 65° and 70°F. At night, it can fall to 40°F. We recommend dressing with layers.
There are salon appointments available first-come, first-serve for our group at Salvio hotel. To reserve your spot, contact our wedding planner Camila Klahr via Whatsapp: +57 3102563634.
