Before booking a shore excursion look at the reviews, and make sure to go through Carnival incase of a delay the boat WILL wait. If you book on the island when you arrive, it's not through carnival the boat will not wait for you if they run behind. Make sure to keep an eye on time get back to the boat at least an hour before it's scheduled to leave port.
When in Nassau, Bahamas beware of the Straw Market district if ALONE or in PAIRS. It can be unsafe, in that area specifically. If planning on going to the free beach you have to walk through it.
You can google places to go in Nassau they have the best rum cake store that gives out free samples.
Grand Turk has crystal clear blue water. Beautiful beaches with free chairs. Free Margaritaville pool if the beach isn't your thing. Great shopping.
Amber Cove is a very scenic city. We enjoy doing an excursion due to there not being a beach in walking distance. Shopping is right off the ship and great options.
