Saddle Up at Q: This is the bar where we first met and have shared many friendships over the years. Saturdays, they often have bands or a DJ. Equipped with a large dance floor to accommodate line dancing for all skill levels. They start line dancing around 7pm to country-themed music around 7pm and transition to play a mix of modern pop/hip hop/country music for line dancing around 10:30-11pm as the night progresses. "Bar food" menu options available. No reservation is necessary, but the earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to find a table big enough for your party, or you can reserve tables on their website. Ages 21+
Cellar Door Wine Bar & Bistro: This is one of the bride's favorite places to eat and hang out with friends. They have a full menu for lunch or dinner and thousands of wine selections from all over the world. They have a wine club for regular patrons you can join who receive a monthly wine bottle and discounts on bottle purchases. Pro tip: If you need a recommendation on any wine (or spirit), ask the maid of honor. There is free parking on the street and near the back of the restaurant.
The Constable Tattoo Parlor: This spot is famous in our household. If you're feeling the itch to get a tattoo or piercing, Constable is the place to go. Our artist, Bobby, is based out of the Constable Tattoo, and has completed all of the artwork you see on the Bride and Groom. Highly professional customer service and so much beautiful artwork comes out of this shop, no matter who you book with. You absolutely will get what you pay for with this shop, without it costing you an arm and a leg, literally. Appointments are required.
Barrel & Vine: This restaurant is an amazing hidden find in the southwest suburbs. Featuring a well-rounded lunch and dinner menu spanning across land & sea options for any palette and is allergen-friendly. They have more than just wine, featuring a full-service bar with signature cocktails, beer, whiskey, and more. Pro tip: Make a reservation and have a plan for parking.
Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Company: If you're anything like the bride and enjoy a fantastic place to eat, this place is ALWAYS a great selection if you have a pizza craving. Taking a non-traditional twist on Chicago Pizza, this Italian restaurant is famously known for their "Pizza Pot Pies" and is conveniently located right next to Lincoln Park Zoo. Pro tip: They don't take reservations, but if you go around lunchtime on a Sunday, you may have shorter wait times.
Next Whiskey Bar: Looking for a spot with a MASSIVE selection of whiskey? NWB is the place to be, and their food never disappoints. This is the Groom's favorite place to eat/drink to celebrate an occasion. Reservations are not needed but recommended to avoid a wait time.
White Smoke & Ash Cigar Bar: This is a cigar & hookah lounge located in Joliet, IL. This is one of the Groom's favorite places to hang out with the guys and chill. It is recommended to bring your own alcohol and food if you wish to eat or drink. They sell premium cigars and hookah for you to share with good company.
Activate: This is an immersive, gaming "arcade" experience that is perfect for planning a large group activity. You can play with just 2 people, but the more the merrier! They have many interactive rooms where you can play a variety of games for all difficulties. Pro tip: wear something comfortable and lightweight because it can be a mild workout at times.
Lincoln Park Zoo: Chicago's downtown zoo is a HUGE outdoor park that hosts Fall Fest in October and is free to the public! If you're planning a day downtown, this is a great place to visit to enjoy the fall weather outdoors, art installations, and animal company. A fantastic family-friendly option to bring the kids while seeing the city's sights.
Morton Arboretum: Take in the beauty of the vibrant fall leaves at the Morton Arboretum, a stunning park in Lisle, IL that is home to thousands of varieties of trees and wildlife. They also have interactive features such as the Wonder Woods Mini Golf. You can purchase admission tickets online at their website.
