Maid of Honor
My cousin Maggie has been earning her Maid of Honor title since the day she was born. We’ve been inseparable our whole lives, sharing everything from roles we made for up musicals in our grandparents’ living room, to our favorite blackberry margaritas in D.C., to beds during giggly sleepovers (at age 5 and 25). We've been glued at the hip since 2000, so of course there's no one else I'd rather have by my side on this day.
Matron of Honor
Maddy, my sister-in-law, is my Matron of Honor. Saying I look up to her in every sense of the word is a serious understatement. She’s one of the coolest, most beautiful, fiercely loyal, and DIY handy people I've ever know. She’s the Elphaba to my Glinda, always there to encourage me, answer a question, sing at the top of our lungs, and remind me what it means to be truly badass. Beyond that, she’s family in every sense of the word, and I honestly can’t imagine this life without her by my side. After all, there were never such devoted sisters.
Man of Honor
Ryan, my best friend, is my Man of Honor. He’s the person who’s stood beside me through every twist and turn. We met in French class 11 years ago, and became completely inseparable. He’s been my go-to dance partner for every choreographed routine, my college roommate, and the person I relied on most when we both left our small town of Champaign for Chicago. The day I met Ryan is the day I learned that soulmates really do exist. If you can’t find us at any point during the day, we’re probably on a table somewhere, singing Taylor Swift at the top of our lungs.
Best Man
We couldn't be more thrilled to have Alex standing by my side on our wedding day. He's not just a friend; he's family. Alex and I met in kindergarten and grew up right down the street from each other. We were so inseparable that when he moved to Utah for flight school in college, I followed him. Choosing him as my best man was never a question.
Groomsman
My groomsmen wouldn't be complete without my brothers. I’m incredibly proud to have my brothers, Nick, Matt, and Mike, as part of our wedding party. They’ve guided me, challenged me, and been there for me every step of the way, and I couldn't imagine getting married without them standing with me. Growing up, Nick and I were constant rivals while simultaneously being partners in crime. From endless debates (to this day), wrestling matches that ended with a broken TV remote, and marathon video game sessions (again… to this day), he’s always been someone I could count on to keep life interesting and to make sure I never won an argument without a fight. Nick is also the proud dad of our flower girl, Clémence. Even after all the debates and broken remotes, I’m honored to have him stand with me.
Groomsman
My brother Matt is my go-to for concerts, camping, and all things vinyls. He’s a talented artist and someone I’ve always been able to count on for laughs, advice, or just a good time. He'll even teach us a thing or two about fixing up a house. If there’s music, a campfire, or a record store involved, you’ll find us there. Through every adventure (and a few misadventures), he’s always been there, and I’m grateful to have him stand with me.
Groomsman
As the oldest brother, Mike was always the one who showed me the ropes (and sometimes got me in trouble). He’s been my protector and biggest supporter since day one. I even followed in his footsteps by studying accounting. Beyond that, he’s been a guide, a sounding board, and a consistent presence in my life. He’s also the proud dad of our flower girl, Siena. Having him stand with us, after everything he’s taught me and the example he’s set, makes our day even more special.
Officiant
From hosting more dinners and cocktail hours than we can count to mounting our TV on the wall, my Zio Carlo has been a reliable, and cherished presence in our lives. He’s run countless races around Chicago with Isabella (mostly for the post drag show brunches afterward), shared whiskey tastings with Tony, given advice when we needed it, and is the proud dad of our Maid of Honor, Maggie. He’s also one of Roxie’s favorite visitors, especially when she needs an emergency afternoon potty break. Zio Carlo has been generous with his time, his kitchen, his humor, and his uncanny dedication to happy hour. Having him officiate means everything to us. He’s been there through both the everyday moments and the big moments, so it only feels right that he’s the one helping us start the weekend, and the party, with all of you.
