The Intervale Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community food systems and promoting the sustainable use of agricultural lands. It manages a 360-acre campus of farmland, trails, and open space along the Winooski River and leases land to independent organic farms--including one growing flowers for our wedding! The Intervale Center also works with farmers across Vermont through community-supported agriculture (CSA) and large-scale composting programs, food hubs, and farm incubator projects. We are so grateful to have found a venue that aligns with our values and does such incredible work. If you're interested in learning more about the Intervale Center or supporting their work, check out their website at https://www.intervale.org/
Please (1) wear something you feel comfortable and happy in and (2) do not wear all white (duh). We want the weekend to be filled with joy, and do not want anyone to feel pressure to wear anything that will hamper their experience in any way. Show up as your most authentic self and we will be happy! That said, we will still give suggestions and guidance (not rules!) for attire and dress code. For Saturday's wedding events, we are encouraging guests to embrace colors and/or patterns. Think colorful late summer garden pizza party. Colored suits, dresses of any length, jumpsuits, rompers, or pants and a top are all fair game. Inspiration on what we would wear can be found here: https://pin.it/5KpzhjEcC Keep in mind that temperatures in Vermont can be a bit chilly in September, so keep an eye on the weather and consider bringing a light jacket or sweater. Both Welcome Drinks and Sunday's Brunch are casual -- we expect most people will be in sundresses / short sleeved tops and no jackets, but jeans and a t-shirt are also totally acceptable. Bridget & Ross will be a little dressier at both events -- think sundress / short-sleeved button down -- but there is no need for you to match. If you want to roll up to Sunday Brunch in your PJs, that's great!
Yes! Check out our "Food & Drink" tab for more information on what options will be available for the weekend. Our entire weekend's menu is vegetarian, and we have plenty of gluten-free and vegan options planned. We will ask for dietary restrictions when you RSVP, but if you're concerned or have any further questions, please reach out to us at kruse.lavender@gmail.com
Because our venue is a historic (that is, old) barn, no open flames or smoking is allowed onsite. Please plan accordingly and help us not burn down the centuries old barn!
There is an RSVP option on our website. Please RSVP by August 1. If you have any issues or questions, reach out to us at kruse.lavender@gmail.com
We recognize that attending our wedding may cost significant time, energy, and money. In lieu of traditional gifts, we would love for each guest / household to write us a letter on letter sized paper and bring it to the wedding. We hope to get these letters all bound together to create a keepsake book. We have registered for a few items and experiences as well, for those who wish to contribute.
Yes! We love kids and would be honored to have them as part of our celebration if you choose to bring them! When you go to RSVP on our website, your children should be included as members of your party. If for some reason they're not, let us know. If you have any questions about accommodating children, dietary restrictions, or other accessibility needs, email us at kruse.lavender@gmail.com
Yes, our venue has 80 parking spots available onsite. That said, we encourage people to take Ubers or public transportation if they plan on enjoying the open bar — please don’t drink and drive! If necessary, you may leave your car at the venue overnight.
