Please take a few moments to look through our website, which has information about our venue, registry, and other details you may need to know about our wedding day. For those coming from out of town, we have included information about travel, accommodations and other fun things to do in the area if you'll be staying for the weekend. We are so excited to have you celebrate our special day with us!
We attended high school together, where we went about our separate, busy lives for four years until we became good friends during our statistics class senior year. We went to prom that May and we've been inseparable ever since. Over the years, we've bonded over baseball games (our goal is to visit every MLB stadium!), traveling (seven states and Canada so far), and experiencing life's milestones together. After two years of long distance, two years of exploring Oregon together, adopting our dog, Sully, and transitioning into our careers, we will be celebrating our seven-year anniversary by getting married!
On September 25, 2020, we went for a weekend getaway to Mendocino, CA. Upon arriving at our hotel, I realized I forgot my entire makeup bag at home. "Oh well, I'll just be ugly all weekend," I laughed to Ryan. He quickly became flustered, running in the bathroom to fix up his hair, and pacing around the room. "Really, it's no big deal, I can buy some mascara tomorrow," I told him. But still, he seemed so worried! Little did I know, Ryan was planning on proposing that weekend and he knew I wouldn't want our engagement captured on camera without being a little done up! He wasn't planning on asking me that evening, but since I already looked put together, he rolled with it and improvised. We went for a spur of the moment walk around town at sunset, and he got down on one knee on a beautiful cliff. He took me totally by surprise, so of course the first words out of my mouth were, "Are you messing with me right now?" After the initial shock, I got around to saying "YES!!" A passerby who caught it on camera coincidentally had dinner at the same restaurant that night, and he approached our table to give us the picture! It was all completely unplanned, but absolutely perfect.
