Anand Karaj Men - Western suit. Everyone removes shoes in the Gurdwara so check your socks! You will also be given a square scarf to tie on your head - you can ask people around to help you tie this. Women - Indian suit or Western dress. If you wear a western dress, you will need leggings and a scarf to cover your head when you enter the gurdwara. Please ensure there's no cleavage, spaghetti straps and the length is below the knee. Indian suits come with scarves. Generally red is avoided. Reception - Black tie Men - Tux (formal suit if you cannot) Women - formal western dress or Indian lehenga, saree or gown. These can be purchased from shops in Soho Road in Birmingham (Diya's, Monga's and most shops on the road) or Southall in London. Also websites such as Lashkaraa, Pernia's (expensive brands), Lily's boutique and Etsy - these can take a few weeks to arrive. I have never purchased from these but I know others who have. Please click on the example photos for descriptions.
