The groom's wedding procession. The bride's friends and family are at the Gurdwara first and the Barat enters.
Members of the Bride’s side welcome the Groom by exchanging flower garlands. Traditionally, they greet the groom in descending order, from the oldest generation to the youngest, filling in familial gaps with cousins. This portion of the Milni Ceremony is also an introduction for guests to see how each key person is related to the Bride and Groom respectively. Following this, everyone will enter the Gurdwara for refreshments/breakfast. You will queue and the food will be served to you at the front. All food is vegetarian. You can sit anywhere but as the hall is small, everyone takes it in turns to sit and eat.
Sikh wedding ceremony. Following refreshments, you will be directed to enter the Darbar (holy room/area) which is upstairs. You will remove your shoes and go upstairs. There is an aisle in the middle. Women are seated on the left and men on the right.
Lunch/wedding breakfast following the ceremony. Same style as refreshments.
Marking the bride's final departure to start a new life with her husband.
