In the early summer of 2018, Roshni and Shyamal found themselves on a little known indian dating app called Dil Mil. After fate (or a lucky algorithm) paired them together, Roshni decided to message Shyamal. He was of course too busy launching rockets to spend time on Dil Mil. But after 3 days, he finally responded and the two hit it off. Shyamal was excited to share his passion for space and was surprised by Roshni’s interest in space too. He was blown away by her knowledge, her thirst for space podcasts, and in general – everything else about her! Text messages quickly turned to long phone calls and even longer FaceTime sessions. Two months later, Roshni and Shyamal met in person for the first time in Chicago and spent the day at Adler Planetarium where he was excited to show off his space knowledge and impress Roshni... and well, she was impressed. After such a memorable first date exploring the famous Chicago sites together, Shyamal couldn't stay away for too long. He was back in Chicago a month later and asked her to go on this adventure together called life and asked her to be his girlfriend.

Several adventures, many flights, and infinite laughs later, Shyamal decided he was going to design and make the perfect engagement ring for his perfect fiancée to be. While nearly blowing up his house in the process, Shyamal finally had the ring in hand and booked the couple a special hiking trip to Havasu Falls. They hiked 10 miles into the Grand Canyon, and set up camp for the night. The next day, he led her to a magnificent waterfall to take a photo but instead he got on one knee and asked her to be his wife. The moment was picture perfect and the rest was history. #ATaleOfTwoPatels was just getting started with many more adventures and chapters awaiting.
