We think it was 2008 the first time we were in the same room; and the place, most certainly, Marina's. Josh was doing the musician, rockstar thing and I was returning to the Shore from the Navy. I'm not positive we were ever really introduced. He was the goofy guy in a band that all my new friends liked and was never at any of the after-parties. It would be a few years before we'd meet on romantic terms. A lot of life happened to the both of us and at the end of 2011, the timing was nearly right. With a little help from a mutual friend, I found myself at a bar where “Rizzo” was promised to be. I saw him and I swear his eye twinkled from across the room. Time slowed down just like it does in the movies, and that beard! I must have drunk some liquid courage because I walked right up to him and suggested I was someone to which he needed to give attention. He called for the bartender to pour two shots! It worked! He made me a mixed tape. I made him date me; like real dates. We fell in love. We blended families. He changed his address. And then he made me wait for a ring. Finally, after some 6 years of dating, he surprised me with an engagement. We eloped in March, while in Vegas for a work conference. Ben and Meg were there, and some other amazing friends from work. Knowing that we would plan a party for our family in the fall has turned into a second wedding and what we hope to be one heck of a celebration of our love. Thank you each and all for being a part of our love story.
