On Allie's very first day at her new company back in 2018, she was an intern for Garrett's business development team. After a full day of orientation, Allie went to meet the group she'd be supporting. Typically, Garrett takes his time introducing himself to new hires, but he decided to go say hello to Allie. After that first conversation, Allie immediately had a huge crush on Garrett. The two got to know each other more around the office, going to team events and happy hours. Allie got Garrett's number from one of their coworkers after a team event. They started texting and kept talking about getting a drink together and then finally, Allie insisted that they go grab dinner at Hampton & Hudson, so they did! They enjoyed burgers and then hopped on over to Bar Taco in Inman Park and shared their first kiss. And the rest is history!

They'd been talking about it for quite some time. In fact, Allie went with Mackenzie 18 months before to pick out a ring. She was overanalyzing Garrett's every move (surprise). Leading up to the family vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Dean, Allie was traveling for work, so had little opportunity to pick up on any hints (thank god). Garrett had called the jeweler back in February '22 to secure the ring, but wasn't able to pick it up until just 2 days before the May trip. Once they land in St. Thomas, they have to take a ferry from St. Thomas to St. John. Once they arrive, they were able to put their luggage in the car, but were told not to leave anything valuable. Garrett ended up leaving all of his belongings in the car, so Allie thought, "ok, he's not proposing. He wouldn't leave a ring in the car!" Little did she know, he had handed the ring off to Mr. Dean to keep in his backpack. They go to lunch and settle in, and the next day, they all head to the beach, where everyone was saying, "let's take it easy today and not get too drunk." Which if you know the Deans, is a very strange and foreign concept. So they take it easy and go to an early lunch. Everyone INSISTS that they all get home by sunset. Unbeknownst to Allie, she says "of course, the sunset will be beautiful!" After a quick dip in the pool, Allie goes to change and shower. She comes out of the bathroom in FULL level 1 comfy pajamas with a towel still on her wet hair. Garrett sees her and says "the moon looks pretty cool, we're going to take pictures!" (re: "go get changed so you're wearing something cute") So Allie goes back inside and changes, walks upstairs to see Garrett taking pictures of Jim and Ann. After, Allie walks over to get a picture with Garrett. They take their picture, and Allie, unknowingly, turns back to look at the view. "There's something on your foot," Garrett says. Next thing Allie knows, she turns around (pretty concerned there's a bug), and Garrett is on one knee! Cue the excited jumping! She said yes! Best day ever.
