Things To Do / Que hacer

Valle de Guadalupe is one of the most intriguing destinations for food and wine in North Mexico and even North America right now. The region has been gaining gastronomic credibility for decades, but recently an impressive amount of new talent has been drawn here, and travelers are rewarded with a booming array of must-try limited-release wines, some of the best olive oils in the New World, remarkable aged cheeses, and top-notch cooking at some of Latin America's most-talked-about restaurants. For those who do not drink wine, there is also olive oil tastings, horseback riding, some of the best food I ever had and many wineries have tours with great views, there are also local stores with products from the valley. There are also local breweries if you're a beer lover. Just ask us! If, you prefer to go to Ensenada, A walk on the Fisrt Street is a must, ideal for shopping and food sojourns, is the best way to soak in the local Ensenadan flavor. Just check below all the info!

Corona del Valle

Valle de Guadalupe, B.C. 22760, Mexico
, +52 646 116 2440

George and I come to this place every time we come to the Valley. We love the view, the wine tasting and the food. They have an indoor and outdoor section. The place is huge and they even bikes for guests to use if you feel like it. Reservations are not needed but recommended during the weekend since it gets very very busy in the Valley.

Deckmans

Carretera Ensenada-Tecate Km. 85.5, San Antonio de Las Minas, Guadalupe, B.C. 22766, Mexico
, +52 1 646 188 3960

You'll book a reservation here if you're a foodie. This is by far one of the best dining experiences in the Valley with a dine alfresco among the grapes. Drink wine made on-site. Meet the head chef, Drew Deckman. Watch the head chef and talented staff cook over open flame, near your table. Surrender to the meal. Get a little bit of everything and share it! Enjoy the sights and smells of wine country in Baja. RESERVATION IS A MUST here, just making sure you get the message, But during the weekend the Valley gets pretty crowded and if you want to it, you better make a reservation :)

Finca Altozano

Francisco Zarco, Valle de Guadalupe, B.C. 22750, Mexico
, +52 646 156 8045

EVERYTHING here is soooo good! you dine outdoors, the food is cooked when you order, the staff is super friendly and the property is big.. Another excellent choice for dining. Reservations are preferred since this place is very popular... especially during the weekend.

La Guerrerense

917 Avenida Adolfo López Mateos, Ensenada, B.C. 22800, Mexico
, +52 646 174 0006

On an inconspicuous corner in downtown Ensenada sits quite possibly one of the most famous street food carts in the world. Anthony Bourdain dubbed it "absolutely phenomenal", and believe us, it was nothing short. The wide variety of ceviche and tostadas, from sea urchin to shrimp, is the freshest of the fresh. Believe us, you do not want to miss it.

Hussong’s Cantina

113 Avenida Ruiz, Ensenada, B.C. 22800, Mexico
, +52 646 178 3210

The oldest and perhaps liveliest cantina in the Californias has been serving tequila since 1892. A Friday or Saturday night will be packed with locals, a sprinkling of tourists and touting mariachis. The history is fascinating, so request the leaflet (in English and Spanish).

Nightclub and bar

La Bufadora Ensenada BC Mexico

Calle N, Ensenada, B.C. 22819, Mexico

This natural phenomena attracts visitors from all over Mexico and the world. La Bufadora, meaning “blow hole” in Spanish, is a marine geyser that shoots seawater several meters into the air! This is the only ocean geyser in all of North America, making it a rare treat to see. Visitors should be warned that you will get misted or wet depending on how big the blow is. Once you get there, the walkway is lined with vendors selling all the traditional Mexican favorites like blankets, maracas, and sling shots. Grab some fresh churros or a carne asada taco as you walk around—and don’t forget to see the main attraction!

Download the Guadalupe Valley App VCC+
