Lodging Info

The best place to stay is onsite at one of the venue's lodges. If you want to stay there, you'll need to book and pay for a room just like you would at a hotel. The link below will take you to the venue's booking website. There are a variety of room sizes: single occupancy, double occupancy, or 6-person occupancy with a combo of bunk beds and a queen bed. The booking process can be a little confusing, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions! Everyone staying at the venue will receive free breakfast and lunch on Saturday, May 17th. You don't have to stay at the venue, but we won't be providing transportation to or from any other hotels. There is plenty of free parking onsite.

What's the deal with the ferry?

There's a ferry service with continuous sailings back and forth between Bainbridge Island and Seattle. There are 23 sailings in each direction per day. Fun fact - it's the largest ferry system in the country and the second largest in the world! The boats can accommodate cars, bikes, and walk-on passengers. To drive on, drive west on S Jackson Street in downtown Seattle until you reach Alaskan Way. Turn right and get over to the left lane. From there, you'll be able to turn left into the ferry waiting zone. To walk on, take either the stairs or elevator up from Alaskan Way. Driving on costs $18.65 for one vehicle and one driver, plus an extra $10.25 per adult passenger (kids sail for free). Walking on is just $10.25 per adult passenger. Seattle residents can pay using their ORCA cards without needing to visit the ticket counter. If you walk onto the ferry heading back from Bainbridge to Seattle, then it's free! Huzzah! Whether you drive or walk on, make sure to follow signs for Bainbridge and not Bremerton, which is the other destination served by the ferry terminal. Each sailing is 35 minutes. The ride provides views of Puget Sound and the city of Seattle. While on the ferry, you can either remain in your car or explore the upper deck, where there is a food court, seating, and fore and aft decks for sightseeing. The Bainbridge Ferry Terminal puts you right in downtown Winslow, a big tourist area on the island. Within 10-15 minutes walking distance are restaurants, cafes, shops, and an art museum. If you have time to spare in Winslow, we recommend checking out Eagle Harbor Bookstore, Blackbird Bakery (they're making our wedding cake!), and Celtic Crossroads. If you're up for a bit more of a walk, check out Pegasus Coffee - it's in a brick building covered in ivy, and they have bagels!

Should you rent a car?

It's completely up to you. If you're flying in from out of town, you'll arrive at SeaTac airport. To get from there to our wedding venue on Bainbridge Island, you have a few options: get to the Seattle Ferry Terminal and take a ferry to the island (approx. 90 minutes to 2 hours door to door), or drive around (approx. 1 hour 45 minutes door to door). Renting a car will give you a lot more mobility on the island. Bainbridge doesn't have Uber, so driving a personal vehicle is the only way to get around besides the shuttles we've rented. If you're staying offsite or wish to explore the town, definitely rent a car. However, none of the wedding events require personal transportation if you're staying onsite. If you opt not to rent a car, you can take either an Uber or the light rail to the Seattle Ferry Terminal. The light rail leaves directly from the airport and is $3 for adults and free for children. You'll get off at the Pioneer Square stop and walk about 8 minutes to the ferry. Once you arrive on Bainbridge, you can take one of the rented shuttles to the wedding venue.
