We're Getting Married!

Rose sent Matt a message on Hinge in February of 2022 - she likes to say that she ordered him online! After some back and forth, Matt proposed meeting up at Dogwood Coffee in Northeast Minneapolis. Their first date lasted many hours - Rose even had to postpone an event with friends so they could keep talking. Their second date was a dinner out at a restaurant near Rose's place in St. Louis Park, and afterwards they decided to head to a second location to continue their conversation. After a few months of dating, Matt asked Rose to be his girlfriend, and she was very excited to say yes. During the first few years of dating, Matt and Rose enjoyed meeting in Edina and Bloomington for Indian food, walks, and skiing. On the weekends, they loved cooking together, checking out coffee shops, and visiting friends and family. Their first trip together was a last-minute couples trip to Florence, Italy, to visit Rose's brother, after Rose's mom broke her leg and was unable to go. They loved getting to see Florence, Venice, and Cinque Terre together, and particularly enjoyed a tour of the Tuscan wine country. Other vacations together included a ski trip to Utah with Rose's parents, trip to Palm springs with Matt's family, and cabin weekends with friends and family. In July of 2024, Rose moved in with Matt at his house in Farmington, beginning the next chapter of their relationship together. In January, Rose tore her ACL on a ski trip, and the recovery process both challenged and strengthened their relationship, solidifying their ability to support each other through thick and thin. On July 2nd 2025, Matt organized a classic date with Rose at one of their favorite places - they would walk around Centennial Lakes in Edina, then eat at their favorite Indian Restaurant, Tamarind. During the walk, they reflected on their relationship and how far they had come together. Once they were part of the way around the lake, Matt got down on one knee and proposed. Rose was overjoyed to say yes, and was delighted that Matt had conspired to have her parents hiding across the lake, witnessing and taking photos!
