Question

What is a Tisch? Do I have to be there?

Answer

A Tisch is a Jewish tradition where you celebrate the bride and groom before the wedding ceremony. The Tisch will be a time to wish congratulations to the Bride, Groom, Bridal Party, and families before the wedding. Although, men and women are traditionally separated during this event, we are celebrating together. The Tisch is a time of hype up before the ceremony. It is your job to dance, sing, and shower the bride and groom with love and blessings to get the party started! This is a high energy event filled with music, drinks, and light snacks. The guests will escort the bride and groom to the Ketubah Signing. This is not part of the Wedding Ceremony but an ancient tradition. All are welcome but no obligation to attend.

Question

What is a Ketubah Signing? Do I have to be there?

Answer

The Ketubah is a Jewish marriage contract that is validated before a wedding. The couple, rabbi, and witnesses all participate in the signing of the ketubah. The Ketubah ceremony will be in a seperate room from the Tish, Wedding ceremony, and reception. Following the Ketubah signing, guests will take their seats for the legal ceremony. This is not part of the larger wedding ceremony and the Ketubah will be on display throughout the evening. All are welcome but no obligation to attend.

Question

If I don't attend the Tisch or Ketubah Signing, what time should I arrive?

Answer

Please join us for our ceremony at 5pm.

We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite semi-formal attire!
