We met at a beach bar in Point Pleasant, NJ. Ryan was sitting next to me and my friends at the bar, and we talked for a while but eventually went our separate ways. Our paths crossed again later that evening, and we invited Ryan to join us. When I asked Ryan what he does for a living he said he was a "hitman". I knew this was a lie, but I allowed him to entertain me with his story. We continued to talk for hours that night and had a great time together. The next day he confessed that he did not want to scare me away by telling me he was in law enforcement so he lied, and he would understand if I did not want to see him again. I told him that his profession did not bother me at all, and as long as he was honest with me moving forward I would love to see him again. He agreed, and here we are almost 7 years later. I'm glad I made the decision to give him another chance because it was the best decision I ever made.
Our friend told us that he scheduled a beach photo shoot for him and his girlfriend, but they could not go so he offered us their photo shoot. Coincidentally, the photo shoot was on the beach in Point Pleasant at the place where we met 6 years ago. The photographer instructed me to turn around after taking a few shots and face the water. As I turned, I saw Ryan down on one knee and I instantly cried happy tears. We were overwhelmed with joy and love, and we could not wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
