We set our wedding date as far into 2021 in the hopes that we didn't have to add this note but here we are! After thoughtful consideration, we have decided to proceed with our wedding as planned. However, we request that our guests complete a PCR test 3 days prior to departing to Mexico to be safe. *All the events are outdoors. We will continue to monitor the CDC guidelines for travel and mask mandates and communicate any request changes via email. Lastly, all employees at Garza Blanca and Villa Mandarinas will be wearing masks and following proper guidelines.
We HIGHLY request that everyone stay at the Garza Blanca Hotel as we have a room block. Please see the "Travel" tab for more details & the link to book.
Indian weddings are very festive and colorful. We prefer everyone to join in the experience and wear traditional clothing like a saree or lehenga for women and Kurta for men but obviously there is no pressure or expectation. Whatever you decide, just remember to have fun with it. If you're around the New Jersey / New York area, we highly recommend going to Nazaraan (nazranaanj.com) in Edison, NJ or any of the stores around there. You can also buy online at the below sites. Note: if you go the online route, please make your purchase by July so it arrives on time. www.lashkaraa.com www.aishwaryadesignstudio.com www.fabiliciousfashion.com If buying isn't your think you can also rent at the below sites: www.glamourental.com www.riyacollective.com
Yes, if you're staying at the Garza Blanca Hotel. If you are not, please arrange a taxi from the hotel you are staying at or Uber.
There will be dances planned by some of the family & friends but if you are interested in performing a song or dance, giving a speech, or showing off another special talent, please reach out to us :)
Indian weddings are comparatively long as they are filled with multiple traditions and rituals. In addition to this, we wanted to combine both the Hindu & Jewish ceremonies into one as this felt more personal to us. Don't you worry, we'll have drinks and snacks passed around during & after the ceremony, there will be lunch. Then you'll have about 3 and half hours to rest up and change before the reception!
Unfortunately no but he'll still make an entrance ;)
Absolutely! The ceremony is concluded when Aaron breaks (a carefully covered) glass. At the sound of the glass breaking, family and friends call out "Mazel Tov!" to wish the newlyweds congratulations as they begin their new life together.
The hora is lively, raucous circle dancing, which usually starts immediately when the bride and groom enter the reception. As part of the hora, the bride and groom are seated on chairs and lifted in the air, holding onto a kerchief or napkin. (You might recognize this part from the movies.)
Since this is a destination wedding, please bring a card or check out our "registry". Mostly, we'd love for you to grace us with your presence :)
