Question
What's the dress code?
Answer
Semi-formal (https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-semi-formal) Note that there will be walking on uneven terrain (stone paths). Bring a jacket depending on the weather. Guidelines for attire: Dress pants and long-sleeve button down shirt, dress shoes, jacket or blazer optional, tie optional Cocktail dresses, any length is fine but note the weather. Please do not wear stilettos as they will not be compatible with the terrain.

Is there parking near the venue?
Answer
Yes! Parking is free. For the ceremony, please park at 1700 Hampton St, Richmond, VA 23220. If the lot is full, there is free parking on nearby streets. For the reception, you will need to move your car to the Nature Center parking lot (2201 Shields Lake Dr, Richmond, VA 23220). There is plenty of parking in this lot for everyone. The drive is very short (less than five minutes). If you are staying at the hotel, there will be a shuttle to the ceremony and back to the hotel (see the "Travel" page). There will also be a shuttle between the ceremony and the reception. Taking an Uber/Lyft is also a good option (they are generally cheap in Richmond).

Where is the ceremony exactly?
Answer
It's at the Maymont Italian Garden. There will be signs to direct you from the parking lot to the gardens. It's about a five minute walk that is mostly paved.

Can I take photos at the wedding?
Answer
We kindly ask that all cell phones and cameras are away and silenced during the ceremony. We have a photographer catching all these special moments! Feel free to take photos and videos for the remainder of the night.

I have mobility challenges. How will I get from the parking lot to the ceremony?
Answer
Please let Simone and/or Roop know! We have a limited number of golf cart seats to shuttle people from the parking lot to the ceremony.

I'm not bringing a car to the ceremony. How do I get to the reception?
Answer
There will be a shuttle between the ceremony and reception. You also welcome to walk. The walk is approximately 20 minutes through the park, and we highly recommend it if you're up for it!

Can I bring a plus-one?

Plus ones will be specified on your wedding invitation.

Am I allowed to bring children?
Answer
Children guests will be specifically invited to the wedding. While the wedding is not strictly adults only, children guests will generally only be close family members of Simone and Roop.

What food will be served at the wedding?
Answer
All wedding food will be vegan (plant-based). There will be hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail hour and a buffet style dinner. Generally, the food style is Italian American (think salad, pasta and marinara, and lasagna). We promise you will be well fed! Please let us know on your RSVP if you have dietary restrictions. We have plans to accommodate gluten-free and nut-free options, so let us know if you'd like one of these meals. If you have other dietary restrictions, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate.
