Frankfurt - FRA airport code.
There is a train that takes you from the airport to Aschaffenburg for cheap. You can also visit https://fz-transfer.de/en to book a private car shuttle for up to 7 people with clear pricing directly on the website. A bit more expensive, but if you would like to be greeted upon arrival after clearing immigration and customs by a private driver with your name on a sign, you can book online via https://www.blacklane.com/en/
It is about 40 minutes depending on traffic.
Yes! Make sure you reach out to your cell phone provider before the trip to turn on International Travel. In my experience, for about $10-$15 per day you can use your cell phone on German towers and it will connect automatically if you opt in to this service. You can use your existing cell plan like normal with calls, data, text, internet, etc. This is very helpful when it comes to GPS navigation if you are driving or just walking around the city, and for keeping in touch with the wedding party.
If you stay in town, everything is in walking distance. For longer distances, or if you are planning on staying at the hotel within our wedding venue, you can easily grab a taxi for the ten minute ride from the town center. There is also a train station, which will connect you with the rest of Germany and Europe should you decide to keep traveling.
You can do this in advance with your bank, but most convenient is to use your American debit card at an ATM in Germany which will automatically convert into Euros for you.
Germany is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time.
We have hired a wonderful day-of coordinator who speaks fluent English named Catharina who will be on site all day to help direct everyone. Should an issue or a need come up the day of, please speak with her directly and she will take care of it!
Yes! Just keep in mind the party will go late, but they are welcome! Please let us know if your kids will be joining so that we can let our caterers know.
