We attended high school together two decades ago, but missed out on a lot of time between now and then. We crossed paths many times in hallways, classrooms, and around campus. The height differential that exists between us had apparently impeded Ron's ability to recognize Amanda's awe stricken face. Fast forward twenty years, with unchanged stature, we became reconnected via social media and our friendship quickly led to love. Messages turned into phone calls and phone calls led to visits. We quickly learned of our shared interests; also our shared disdain for other elements in life. We became extremely drawn together from these joint ideals.

After the above mentioned texts, and phone calls, Facebook banter and tags, secret trips and visits...we were were together. Many knew, some were surprised and others were shocked after it was announced!! While so many details were hidden, there was no way to hide that we were in love with each other! On one of the visits in February, Amanda's parents also made a trip to visit and it fell at the same time as Ron's. Amanda was overjoyed to introduce Ron to her family and found a weekend together a great idea. If he can make it through this, he will make it through anything. As we do with our time together, we planned to go to the beach and look for sharks teeth. Having her foot broken just 11 days before the visit, Amanda was concerned about treading across the sand and the terrain in which Ron replied, "it will be fine" and April, her little sister said, "just go, sharks teeth hunting is important". We drive to Mickler's in Ponte Vedra and make our way to the beach. It was a windy, chilly day and the tide was pretty strong. Unbeknownst to her, Ron had the ring in his hand and almost dropped it. While Amanda is sitting and looking for teeth, Ron approaches exclaiming that "found a nice one!" He puts his hand towards Amanda and opens it revealing the most beautiful ring, and posing that most important question..."Will You Marry Me?"....After some nervous giggling, as she does...Amanda said "YES!" Strangers that arrived at the same time and conversed with throughout the morning, witnessed the proposal, shouted with joy and eagerly approached asking to take photos for us to capture the important moment!
