By far one of our favourite places to eat in New Mexico. We ate here on our first 4th of July together, and Ron actually had to take the plates and throw them away to get us to stop eating! The food is phenomenal, and the service is just as good.
Definitely our favourite place to get away. Madrid is an old mining town that now sports fun shops like Weasel & Fitz: Purveyors of Curious Thangs, Maggie's Diner (featured in the Tim Allen film Wild Hogs), Java Junction Coffee Shop & Kitchen Goods, Gifted Hands, and so much more. That's not even mentioning the food! Places to eat include The Hollar, and The Mine Shaft Tavern & Cantina. Madrid is a must see!
Obviously we love Hyde Memorial State Park, or we wouldn't have chosen to get married here! Just 8 miles outside of Santa Fe, this gorgeous state park advertises camping, fishing, and hiking. There are yurts that sleep up to six for the glamper. This ponderosa pine forest is the perfect getaway for nature lovers of all levels.
Excellent Mexican food in the heart of Santa Fe.
The best margaritas in Santa Fe!
From Grainne: If you go to Meow Wolf, I highly recommend eating there. Hole in the wall place. BEST Mexican I have ever eaten. I am in love with their Chile Relleno Burrito. It would be good to have an idea of some Spanish to go there though, usually the cashier speaks English, but the people calling out the orders for you to pick up don't and they are in different rooms.
