Sebastian and I met when I was 17, and he was almost 22. He was working with his brother (Jake), his dad (Rob), and my dad (Jeff) in Carlsbad, New Mexico. His family had invited mine over for Thanksgiving dinner, so we wouldn’t be alone for the holiday. Of course I had heard about Seb from my dad before this, since my father warned me that Seb had said he would marry “Jeff’s daughter” just to spend more time with my parents. When we finally did meet, I’m sure I was snarky, but I remember following him around like a lost puppy thinking he was the best thing since Channing Tatum. Sebastain, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with a 17 year old junior in highschool (I don’t blame him) so he ignored me. We quickly became friends however, and we grew to know quite a bit about each other. Even when we would go months without talking, it took us no time to fall back into our rhythm when we picked up again. After 3 years of being friends, and finally getting tired of everyone telling us we should get together, we mutually decided (after some drinking on both sides) to give it a shot. Now, 3 years later, here we are, and we could not be more grateful for all the people who have loved and encouraged us along the way.

While on vacation in Florida with our friends, Ashley said that she wanted some family pictures on the beach, and that she would take some photos of us also if we wanted. After posing together a few times, Ashley had me pose alone facing the water. While I thought Ashley was only taking my picture, she was also capturing the moment prior to the engagement. When Ashley said, “Okay now, turn around!” I turned, and saw Sebastian on one knee. Completely in shock, I cut Sebastian off at “Will...” and said “Babe! It’s huge!” Then took the ring and immediately put it on my finger. After a couple seconds Sebastian said “So is that a yes?” to which I replied “Yes. Of course!” Thus began the rest of our lives together.
