Things To Do Nearby

The Wedding Website of Andrew Romero and Isabella Sadler
Even though Fortuna and Ferndale may be in the upper reaches of Northern California, there are still some incredible spots to visit in this gorgeous area. Travel options from this area to other loveable cities include places like Portland, Oregon (7h 30m), and Seattle, Washington (10h 20m); if you'd prefer to head south, you can visit Sacramento (5h) and San Francisco (5h). Things we love to do within an hour or so of the venue location are listed below. Please enjoy your trip here and visit some of our favorite spots!
College Cove Trail

College Cove Trail

College Cove Trail, Trinidad, CA 95570

This is a beautiful hike for anyone to take a nice calm walk on. Views of College Cove beach are all along the trail and lead you to an incredible overhang where we first said: "I love you". The beach is also accessible from the same area and is a second option to visit.

Fern Canyon

Fern Canyon

CA 95555

Fern Canyon is another favorite spot of ours and isn't far away at all. The hike isn't very difficult, letting you choose between finishing the loop or just walking to the end and turning around. If you visit Fern Canyon, make sure to bring waterproof footwear and also and try to ride with someone who has an SUV or lifted vehicle. Access to Fern Canyon can be difficult with your everyday Honda Civic.

Avenue of the Giants

Avenue of the Giants

30780-30784 Avenue of the Giants, Scotia, CA 95565

Avenue of the Giants is a gorgeous hike giving a nice taste of Californias Redwood Forests. You'll want to head down the Avenue of the Giants highway and take the Pepperwood Ln exit. This will lead you to the Drury Chaney Trail. This walk is gorgeous, calm, and doesn't require any over-exertion to be able to enjoy the local beauty.

Downtown Ferndale

Downtown Ferndale

Ferndale, CA 95536

Take a stroll through the picturesque Victorian village of Ferndale. There are several cute stores and small food spots for you to enjoy. On the outskirts of this quaint town are local farms and pastures. Going down the back roads, you'll find our reception venue, tucked nicely away amongst rolling green hills.

This park is right around the corner of the zoo. Just in case you were wondering why it's special, we shared our first kiss here.
