Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’d love for our guests to dress up with us for the occasion! Cocktail or semi-formal attire is encouraged. Think suits, dress shirts, sports coats, cocktail dresses, midi/maxi dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy separates. Please no jeans, sweatpants/shirts, club outfits, sandals, or casual attire.

Are there any events outside?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors but will be moved inside in the event of rain. Weather around 4PM in Mid-October in St. Charles typically ranges from 40–60°F, so we recommend planning accordingly. We suggest bringing jackets, wraps, shawls, or coats so you can stay warm and comfortable while still enjoying the outdoor setting.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

For ease of service and to ensure guest safety, Hotel Baker is unable to make substitutions or modifications to menu items. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please indicate them on your RSVP and select the “allergen” meal option for the applicable guest. Hotel Baker will prepare a dish tailored to safely accommodate all guest allergies.

What is the recommended transportation from O'Hare/Midway or Chicago in general?

Answer

The most direct form of transportation from the airports would be a rental car; there is free overnight parking near our venue. Otherwise, we recommend taking the Metra Union Pacific West (UP-W) line from the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago to the Geneva stop. Hotel Baker is a 10-minute uber/lyft from the station.

What can guests expect from the bar service at the wedding?

Answer

We will have an open bar during cocktail hour, followed by wine service during dinner. After dinner, the bar will reopen as an open bar until 10:00 PM. From 10:00 PM until the end of the evening, drinks will be available as a cash bar (cash only).

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate additional guests beyond what is listed. If your invitation includes a plus one, it will be clearly indicated. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Can I bring outside food and beverages?

Answer

Hotel Baker prefers guests do not bring their own alcoholic beverages on site. We kindly ask guests to not bring in additional food and beverages to any of our wedding related events as per our agreement with the hotel.

Are there any events after the reception?

Answer

There are no planned events after the reception. We have the venue until midnight and invite everyone who would like to stay to do so. Please be mindful there are other guests at the Hotel, and we need to be respectful of our volume late into the evening.
