Jonah and Tessa first met at 16 years old while working part-time at Panera Bread. At the time, Tessa didn’t have her driver’s license, and her parents would pick her up after every shift. One evening, Tessa claimed her parents couldn’t come get her, and Jonah immediately offered to drive her home. Somehow after that, her parents never seemed to be available for pickup again. Eventually, it simply became understood that Jonah would always take her home. At 17, they went on their first date to see a terrible horror movie, It Follows. At 18, they attended Lollapalooza together and said “I love you” for the first time that weekend. But that fall, they went their separate ways for college, and three years passed before life brought them back together. At 21, Jonah texted Tessa in the middle of her summer business calc class to let her know he was moving to Champaign in the fall and asked for apartment recommendations. He had already signed a lease at that point. Not long after, they officially started dating again. At 25, Jonah and Tessa moved to Chicago, where they now live with their two beloved cats, Boo and Belle. Some of their favorite things to do in the city together include walking along the lakefront, exploring different neighborhoods, and enjoying the magical Chicago tradition of day drinking on a patio during a perfect summer afternoon. Over the years, they have traveled across the United States together, from Florida to New Orleans to Hawaii. At 28, Jonah proposed in Sevilla, Spain during a trip through Spain and Portugal. Which remains their favorite destination they’ve visited together so far. At 29 years old, Jonah and Tessa will get married in St. Charles, Illinois before heading off on their honeymoon through Ireland, Scotland, and France.
