A visit to this museum takes only half a day and it offers lots of interactive exhibits great for kids. They also regularly host movie screenings if you're looking to make a day out of it.
Kaitlyn's favorite museum. Learn more about the greatest City in the world!
Check out this world-famous dosa cart in Washington Square Park, an unofficial part of NYU's campus.
A fun new Indian restaurant in the East Village.
The much smaller and chiller alternative to the Bronx Zoo. Kaitlyn spent a summer in high school as a docent here and loved it. Spend half a day here and then check out one of our other recommendations in the area!
Picnic, rent a bike, rollerskate, boat on the lake, or just wander through beautiful forests and fields on winding walking paths.
This is where Rohaan popped the question! A great place for pizza and cocktails--sit outside if it's not too hot or take it to-go to the park. They've got a gelato window too if you're just looking for dessert.
Kaitlyn's go-to breakfast spot. Her usual: BEC + Avacado on a cheddar and chive biscuit.
The home of NYC's government and where Kaitlyn worked for four years! Ask for a tour or just enjoy City Hall Park before walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, which is right around the corner.
As a child Kaitlyn spend many summer days with a morning at the beach and an afternoon at the Aquarium. Beautifully renovated after Hurricane Sandy, this Aquarium is worth the trip, and there's plenty more to do in Coney Island when you're done.
Come for the beach, the amusement park rides, the Wonder Wheel, the brewery, the little league baseball (the Cyclones), Nathan's hot dogs, or do it all. There's nothing more quintessentially summer in NYC than Coney Island, in Kaitlyn's humble opinion.
