It is summer 2013 and a celebration of love is taking place high atop of Signal Mountain. Two of our dearest friends are having their engagement party hosted by Hailey's parents. Although the party is being thrown for our friends, we had somehow never actually met. On that fateful day, our paths finally crossed and while it may not have been love at first sight it was certainly something. As Roger explains it, "the door opened and I saw this girl I've never seen before. Her smile was captivating and familiar even though we hadn't spoken a word. Time stood still in that moment as we exchanged curious glances." Roger then commenced to dancing with Malinda most of the night and enjoying libations. Hailey would then refer to Roger as "Will's wild friend" for the next couple of years until our paths crossed again in late 2015. Roger walks into Tremont Tavern and Hailey, who is there with her family for trivia, asks quizzically "are you here alone?" Knowing that Roger did not reside in Chattanooga at the time combined with his name of reference made this a logical question. That night Roger would speak with Hailey's family and Hailey more than the friends that he was there to meet. Alas, Hailey is informed by someone in her party that Roger obviously likes her. Maybe it was that point Roger started becoming more than "Will's wild friend", but Hailey had more questions that would need to be answered. A few weeks later we would run into one another again. This time celebrating Will's birthday wherein Will's wild friend would obviously be there. However, things were different that night. We danced and had a great time in "downtown" Tullahoma. Roger also tried to steal a kiss from Hailey and was shut down almost immediately. After that night, we began texting and calling one another which led to our first date in February of 2016. We went on a double date with dear friends and watched a presidential debate. Roger finally succeeded in obtaining a kiss.
