FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 31st so that we have a few weeks to solidify our seating chart and catering options.

Question

Can I bring a physical gift to the wedding?

Answer

If it’s anything bigger than an envelope, no. Since we will be flying back to Seattle, we will not have room to bring back additional gifts in our luggage. If you would like to buy us a physical gift, please use the registry so that we can have it shipped directly to our apartment in Seattle.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 2:15 PM, at least 15 minutes before the ceremony start time of 2:30 PM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would strongly prefer our guests to arrive in formal wear: dress pants, dress shirt, tie, suit jacket, pantsuit, jumpsuit, full-length gown, etc. Please do not wear white (white dress shirts are okay). We do not have a formal wedding party so you do not need to worry about wearing the same colors as bridesmaids/groomsmen. If you’d like to match the color palette of the event decorations, feel free to incorporate emerald green, sage green, burgundy, mauve, rose pink, or black.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Only guests who were specifically invited by Roger and Greta will have a place at our event, as we are limited for space and intend on keeping this event to close friends and family only. In other words, there are no plus ones.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please reach out to Roger or Greta directly so we can ensure our caterer has appropriate options for all our guests.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a small parking lot directly behind The Parlour Room, and the venue also allows guests to park across the street at the Merchants Bank parking lot.

Question

How should I refer to the couple?

Answer

Greta will not be legally changing her name, as her academic and professional identity is tied to the Jacobson name. However, socially, she is happy to be referred to as Greta Janusiak. The following are acceptable ways of addressing the couple: Roger Janusiak and Greta Jacobson, Roger and Greta Janusiak, Mr. and Mrs. Janusiak, The Janusiaks (friendly reminder that apostrophes do not belong in plurals). Please do not refer to the couple as Mr. and Mrs. Roger Janusiak because that is outdated. Once Roger and Greta both complete their PhDs, they will be Dr. Janusiak and Dr. Jacobson.
