Dressing code: Is there a dress code? Código de vestimenta: ¿Hay un código de vestimenta?

Answer

Yes! Please don't come in a colorful dress! Follow the dress code: Men: black pants, black blazer, white shirt, no tie. Women: white, beige or cream long dress. ¡Sí! ¡Por favor no vengas con vestido de colores! Sigue el código de vestimenta: Hombres: pantalón negro, blazer negro, camisa blanca, sin corbata. Mujer: vestido largo blanco, beige o crema.

Gifts: What is "Lluvia de sobres"?

Answer

As we do not live in Colombia, it is very difficult for us to take gifts back to the Netherlands. For this reason, we ask for "Lluvia de sobres". "Lluvia de sobres" translates literally as "Envelope rain". It is a term used in South American weddings to indicate that envelopes with an amount of money determined by the guest is welcomed in lieu of gifts. This is tradition and is not considered rude. Time: What time should I arrive at the ceremony? Horario de llegada: ¿A qué hora debo llegar a la ceremonia?

Answer

We recommend arriving at 4:30pm (half an hour before the ceremony begins). Recomendamos llegar a las 4:30pm (media hora antes del comienzo de la ceremonia).

Escorts: Can I bring a date? Acompañantes: ¿Puedo traer una cita o venir acompañado?

Answer

If your invitation says “Your Name" + "Partner”, then yes. If not, we kindly ask you to come alone. Si tu invitación dice "Tu nombre" + "Invitado", entonces sí. Si no, te pedimos que vengas solo.

We are planning to go on a group trip in Colombia the week after the wedding. Let us know if you would like to join us! Check "Things To Do" page for things to do in Medellin and Colombia. Monday 14 is a holiday in Colombia, so buy your tickets with enough time! Estamos planeando hacer un viaje grupal en Colombia la semana después de la boda. ¡Háganos saber si desea unirse a nosotros! Transport: Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There is no public transport to reach the venue. Ubers can take you to the venue in the afternoon but they will not be available at the end of the party at 1 am. We recommend arranging transportation with the hotel. We can make a list with other expats staying in the same hotel to arrange a van to take you back to the hotel.

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If not mentioned in the invitation, we would prefer you coming alone. Amamos a tus hijos, de veritas. ¡Pero queremos que nuestra boda sea tu noche libre! Si no se menciona en la invitación, preferimos que vengas solo.
