meals - greenleaf cafe (breakfast - a gurrola classic and our first date spot!) - mimo's (brek/lun/din - classic whittier with good sandwiches and cheap coffee) - lucky pig (lunch/din - the best japanese food in the city) - joy sushi (happy hour - the food is mid but the sapporo pitchers are $7) - norms burgers (drive thru - are there better burgers? definitely. but they aren't norms burgers) - tacos baja (fish tacos + taco de papa to die for) - tom's tailgate (the best loaded nachos you will ever have. get the chile verde!! UNBELIEVABLY succulent) - phlight (dinner - food that punches way above the whittier weight class) activities - a stroll around uptown, including the below stops: - local fixture (shopping - local wares + LA goodies in the cheugiest of environments) - melrose vintage (shopping - the best vintage in town for over 30 years) - la monarca (shopping/eats - LA chain w/ the fancy drinks and conchas) - penn park (exploring - whittier's best park, where rod's parents got engaged)

los angeles - dodgers game (dodger dog + $19 beer) - los feliz (griffith park, skylight books, barnsdall art park, vista theatre) - larchmont (holey grail, sunday farmers market, walk around the neighborhood) - playa del rey (prince o' whales, the shack, the best beach in LA) - long beach (aquarium, spicy sugar, bixby park, signal hill park, ask jacob tbh) orange county - laguna beach (thousand steps beach, downtown, it's even prettier than you think) - crystal cove (true gem, conservation area, insanely beautiful) huntington beach (more accessible but super MAGA so it's not that sick) - Disneyland (duh, get the genie pass it's worth it) - Knott's Berry Farm (incredible combination of fun and ghetto) - Portillos (yeah it's a chicago chain but their chocolate cake shake is so crazy)
a little further out; consider staying a night or two!
- joshua tree (can you really experience california without a trip to the desert?) - palm springs (like joshua tree but way nicer and way more pools) - ojai (in another world we would've gotten married here) - san diego (take the train, take a trip) - santa barbara (for the bougie wine mom in you) - rosarito (let's be for real you're not down to cross the border)
