Rochelle and Seth met in March 2018 when Rochelle’s friend set them up for a sorority date night, only two months ahead of Seth’s graduation and Rochelle’s summer abroad in Israel. While both of them knew they had met somebody special that night, neither of them could’ve predicted what the future would have in store. In an effort to make the most of the two months of college they had together, Rochelle and Seth shared many dinners, trivia nights, and dates at since-closed Ithaca establishments. After saying “good-bye” two days before Seth’s graduation, they met up the following week in Central Park for a broadway show… and then again, on Staten Island, the day before Rochelle left for Israel. That June, Seth took his first flight across the Atlantic to visit Rochelle in Tel Aviv. After an adventure filled week abroad together and an emotional exchange at Ben Gurion airport, they parted ways without ever verbally discussing, but in their hearts knowing, that this would be the beginning of their story. Their journey continues to span the next 6 years of a long distance relationship as Rochelle graduated from Cornell, completed her masters and started medical school. Seth pursued his passion for clean energy technology development as a Battery Engineer outside of Boston. Between hours of FaceTime, Netflix Party, and many thousands of miles that Seth put on his car, their mutual commitment to maximizing the time they spent together remained the grounding constant in a life otherwise full of changes and unknowns. Whether they were physically in the same place or temporarily apart, they continued to build a shared life. Seth taught Rochelle how to ski and introduced her to a weekend schedule structured around Liverpool Football Club. Rochelle embraced the early morning soccer culture, as Seth added a few seasons of Love Island and The Bachelor to his watch list. Together, they visited 12-15 different countries (don’t ask how they count differently, it’s a whole thing) and almost as many Finger Lakes wineries. They became amateur bartenders (pandemic project turned personality trait) and each other’s greatest supporters. In 2025, Seth became a four time intramural soccer champion, and Rochelle became an actual doctor. In one of their many annual traditions, Rochelle and Seth visited Ithaca in Fall, 2023. There, on September 30, Seth proposed to Rochelle at Buttonwood Grove Winery, opening another exciting chapter in their lives. Most recently, Rochelle and Seth moved together to Brooklyn, for Rochelle to start her Anesthesiology residency. They have also planned a wedding - Welcome!
