How We Met

April 2022

Like so many modern love stories, ours began with a right swipe on Tinder. Allison had an extra ticket to a Bruins game and decided to put the offer out on the app. Mike, a lifelong Boston sports fan, eagerly sent her a message — and while he missed that game, he didn’t miss his chance with her. Their first date was in Boston’s North End, where Allison was living at the time. Even though she was on call for work and had to bring her pager, luck was on their side — it never went off. What began with espresso martinis at Ristorante Fiore turned into Chinese takeout and hours of effortless conversation. They quickly realized how easy it was to be together. And don’t worry — Mike still made it to a Bruins game a couple weeks later, but this first date was the real win. From that first night together, the conversation and laughter never stopped. Between late-night chats, adventures around New England and California, and meeting each other’s families, it didn’t take long to realize we’d found something truly special. Moving in together and adopting our dog, Benson, only made our little world feel more complete. Along the way, we’ve also stood by each other through hard times and the losses of loved ones — experiences that deepened our bond and showed us the strength of the partnership we’ve built. What started with a swipe turned into a love story filled with laughter, loyalty, resilience, and countless memories — and we can’t wait to write the next chapter surrounded by all of you at Tupper Manor.

The Proposal

December 25, 2024

Christmas morning of 2024 turned into the most unforgettable day of our lives. While opening presents with just the two of us (and Benson, of course), Mike sheepishly apologized for not having more gifts under the tree. But then, instead of reaching for another present, he got down on one knee. What Allison didn’t know was that the day before, Mike had asked her parents for their blessing and had also had found a way to sneak the ring from his dad’s house to our apartment. He was so nervous, and she was so shocked, that neither of us quite remember what was said — but the answer was an immediate and joyful yes. In the middle of the excitement, Allison found herself staring at the ring, waiting, before finally blurting out, “Are you going to put the ring on me?” It wasn’t a perfect production — it was simple, a little messy, and absolutely us. With love, laughter, and Benson’s happy tail wags, it was the perfect beginning to this next chapter together.
