TRANSPORTATION

Estes Park is approximately 2 hours from Denver International Airport. There is NO Uber or Lyft service available in Estes Park. There is, however, an Estes Park local version of Uber/Lyft called Explore Estes. With that said, we do recommend a rental car as the most flexible choice for getting to and around the town, but the immediate town of Estes Park is fairly small and walkable! We will have complimentary shuttle services to Welcome Party and Wedding from host hotels. Please note: There is NO rental car provider in Estes Park, so cars will need to be rented at Denver International Airport or in the Denver area. Also be mindful of sunset at 8pm MT when driving through the mountain range to Estes Park, CO. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS OUTLINED BELOW

Estes Park is a very popular travel destination! While there is plenty of lodging available, we strongly recommend booking early if you are able to attend and especially if you would like to stay onsite at Black Canyon Inn. We also have some room blocks available at the Expedition Lodge and Estes Park Resort. We will have shuttle services picking up and dropping off guests only at our host hotels. If you book at another lodging option, please understand you will need to plan accordingly for transportation as Ubers/Lyfts are not available. Exact shuttle details to follow.

Expedition Lodge is a great lower-cost option about 5 minutes from downtown Estes Park, offering modern rooms and mountain charm at an affordable rate. **SHUTTLES WILL BE PICKING UP AND DROPPING OFF HERE ON THE EVENING OF THE WELCOME PARTY AND WEDDING Room Block Available - Check-In - May, 5/10 - 5/12. Nightly Rate - Starts at $119 Reservations for the Mucasey/Nash Wedding Group should be made by calling 970-586-5363. Please call during current operating hours which are on Thursday at 12:00 pm mst to Sunday at 11:00 am mst. You can also book a regular reservation through their website and then email aguy@vistahost.com with your name and confirmation number and let him know you are in wedding block and he will switch your reservation over to the group block.

ALTITUDE

Estes Park, Colorado sits at an elevation of 7,522 feet. Please be aware of the effects of high altitude and start hydrating at least 2 days before you arrive in Colorado! Drink more water than you think you'll need, and consider adding electrolytes. Don't overdo it with exercise and note that alcohol tends to have greater effects at higher elevation.

WEATHER

May in Estes Park is a beautiful transition into spring, with fresh mountain air, wildflowers starting to bloom, and snow still visible on the peaks. Daytime temperatures are typically in the 50s–60s°F (10–18°C), while evenings can dip into the 30s–40s°F (0–7°C) so layers are your best friend! The sun is strong at this elevation (7,500 ft), but mountain weather can change quickly, so we recommend packing a jacket, comfortable shoes, and maybe even an umbrella just in case. Be prepared for weather to change quickly.
