Most of you already know this story but if you haven’t heard, this is how it goes. Doug was on his annual Rainy River guy’s fishing trip. He was in his boat with his buddy, Ben Searing. Ben had gotten a text from his new girlfriend Teresa. He asked Doug if he wanted to see a picture of her. I happened to be hiking with her when Teresa snapped a selfie of us. Ben showed him the picture and Doug said she’s cute and wondered who was in the picture with her. Ben said oh that’s Robyn, and she’s single. Small fun fact, I went to school with Ben! Doug asked for my number and after Ben vouched for him that he was a “good guy” (and we Facebook stalked him), I gave him my number. We had our first date at Wiederholt’s Supper Club and 2 years later, he proposed at the same place!
