Vidanta is in Nuevo Vallarta, its like a little town itself with about 4-5 hotels inside, gyms, free live entertainment, free classes including Salsa dancing, private beach, reasonable priced restaurants and much more, check out the reviews and photos and see for yourself. By bus is $1 USD per person one way to Puerto Vallarta, you can also split an Uber which can be almost the same price. There is a nearby congregation if you would be interested in meeting or service. Safest place in the area I'd say, but nothing in Vallarta is very dangerous anyway since its very touristic place.
