I was a third wheel out for the night with good friends in the very beginning of 2013. I was out on the dance floor and enjoying my time dancing carelessly by myself. Suddenly this man came up behind me and tried to dance with me! I politely twirled away not even getting a glimpse of him and skipped over to the bar for another drink. Next thing I knew Jeff slid next to me and offered to buy me a drink. I politely declined but through some chatting I agreed to a shot of Jameson with him (he hates Jameson). As we lifted our cheap little plastic shot glasses Jeff spilled half of his shot all over the bar so I filled half of his cup with half of mine and we took the shot. Long story short, Jeff got my phone number. About four days later I get a call from a man with a heavy Staten Island accent asking me on a date. I started pulling from my memory and remembered Jeffrey, the cute guy from the bar. I agreed. We went on our first date and I immediately started falling for this sweet, pensive, and patient man, He spoke of his love for his niece and nephews, his love for fishing and his close relationship with his parents. He was dedicated to climbing the ladder at work and hungry for success. He seemed so beyond his years. I was hooked. By our second date (at the place where we met) I distinctly remember the moment I fell in love with Jeff. As we stood outside we continued our easy flow of conversation. "So Into You" by Fabolous feat. Tamia blared from the bar and we heard it outside. That was it. I was in love. We have been inseparable since. He is my balance. I am his shoulder and ear. We have come so far from our first night at The Blackdog. We have started building our future. We have rolled through many punches and celebrated so many successes. It seems like a dream that we are on this path. We are so very blessed. I wish every person on this planet could experience a love like ours. It is truly something special.
