Maymont is a beautiful piece of Richmond history. It is a 100 acre estate with a historic mansion/museum, an arboretum, Italian garden, Japanese garden, native wildlife exhibits, and a nature center! In the Fall they do 'Garden Glow' where there are many local food trucks and they light up the Japanese gardens with beautiful displays!
Located about 2 hours west of Richmond, Shenandoah National Park is in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains and not far from our alma mater, JMU! There are many different trails to choose from or stay in your car and cruise on Skyline Drive.

The VMFA is a gorgeous museum that displays a wide variety of art. They host a rotating special exhibit which requires a ticket, but otherwise the museum is free to the public!
