Miles of sand beach, bluffs that tower 450’ above Lake Michigan, lush forests, clear inland lakes, unique flora and fauna make up the natural world of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Our favorite trail is Pyramid Point located on Basch Rd in Glen Arbor, or you can skip the hike and still get the Sleeping Bear experience on the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, located off M-109 just South of Glen Lake in Empire.
Upon first glance, Fishtown is a collection of weathered fishing shanties, smokehouses, overhanging docks, fish tugs and charter boats along the Leland River in Leland, Michigan. It is home to some great shops and eateries including The Village Cheese Shanty - a sandwich shop with a pretzel bun that is to die for, and Tug Stuff - home of the iconic tugboat emblem and a great place to find unique gifts and souvenirs.
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, which separates Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay. It is a part of the Leelanau State Park, and offers walk-throughs of the historic lighthouse facilities, as well as scenic trails along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Located at the heart of Downtown Northport, The Mitten offers local craft beer and cider with a relaxed atmosphere and indoor/outdoor seating. Once upon a time, Leland would visit Robin at her Summer job at the "Big Hot Woody" - a wood-fired pizza truck serving made-to-order pies from The Mitten's outdoor patio space.
This 3rd generation family-owned supper club has been a local favorite since it opened its doors in 1971. Featuring home-cooked classics like broasted chicken, fried perch or whitefish, and other seasonal specialities, we believe that no trip to the Leelanau Peninsula is complete without a meal from this quaint countryside tavern.
