FAQs

Question

Final R.s.v.p. Date?

Answer

The sooner you can inform us the better. We will be accepting RSVPs until November 30th.

Question

What if we R.s.v.p., but can no longer attend?

Answer

We completely understand that unexpected situations and last-minute changes can happen. We simply ask that you communicate with us as soon as possible if your plans change.

Question

Is this a child-friendly wedding?

Answer

Dear Friends and Family, After careful planning and many conversations with our wedding planner and venue, we have made the decision that our wedding will be an adults-only event. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate children. We understand this may present challenges for some families, and please know this decision was not made lightly. We have had to make this choice to ensure the wedding experience we originally envisioned. We are truly excited to celebrate with you and sincerely hope you will still be able to join us. However, we completely understand if this makes it difficult for you to attend, and we appreciate your understanding and support. With love, Robin & Daisy

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests who are formally listed on the invitation. If your invitation includes a plus one, it will be indicated during the RSVP process. If you don't see your plus one, please reach out. We truly appreciate your understanding as we do our best to keep our celebration intimate and manageable.

Question

Which flight should I take?

Answer

We recommend booking the red eye flight out of LAX. Flights depart around 11pm to 1am and arrive in Guatemala around 6am. Although it is a tougher flight, you will be happy you skipped the TRAFFIC.

Question

Which airport am I flying into?

Answer

Aurora International- GUA. If you land early (6am), the drive to Antigua is 45 minutes. If you land at any other time, it can be a lot longer.

Question

How to get around?

Answer

Once you've arrived in Antigua, most places are within walking distance. For those locations that are a bit further, you will be able to Uber. Uber is limited and only has the capacity for 4 seats. You won't have the option to book lux cars but you'll get there safely!

Question

How much cash do I need and where do I get it?

Answer

A majority of places in Antigua accept credit card. You won't need cash if any at all. Your card gives you a better exchange rate (7.6 Quetzales = 1 US Dollar). We usually pull cash from BANK atms, if needed.

Question

What do I pack?

Answer

Aside from formal wedding attire. Antigua’s weather is often described as “eternal spring.” February is part of Guatemala’s summer season, meaning you can expect warm and sunny days with cooler mornings and nights. During the day it can get HOT, especially when walking around, but temperatures cool down quickly in the evenings, so we definitely recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket. We recommend packing: Comfortable walking shoes — Antigua’s streets are beautiful but made of cobblestone. Shorts and lightweight clothing for daytime exploring. A light sweater or jacket for mornings and nights. Swimwear/swim trunks for pools, lakes, hot springs, and beach destinations like El Paredón. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat — the sun can be very strong, especially at higher elevations. A nicer outfit or two for dinners, nightlife, or wedding events. If hiking volcanoes, bring layers and proper hiking shoes, as temperatures can get very cold at higher elevations. You do not need to overpack. There are many dry cleaning and washing places that will do same day.

Question

What should I do if I get sick?

Answer

Traveling internationally always comes with some risks, and unfortunately food poisoning or stomach issues can happen while visiting Guatemala. The good news is that Antigua has many clinics and pharmacies available, and most travelers who get sick recover very quickly with proper medication and hydration. If you do start feeling sick, do not panic. There are several reputable clinics in Antigua that can evaluate you, provide medication, IV fluids if needed, and help you feel better quickly. Pharmacies are also very accessible throughout the city. To help avoid getting sick: Stick to bottled — we even brush our teeth with bottled water while there. Avoid drinking tap water. Be cautious with raw foods such as salads, uncooked vegetables, and street food if you have a sensitive stomach. Wash or sanitize your hands frequently. Stay hydrated, especially at higher elevations and in the heat. You can find anything in a Guatemalan pharmacy. Just google Pharmacy.
