Wedding Resort Review

The Wedding Website of Robin Parente and Charles Henderson
We recently flew down to Mexico to meet with the hotel wedding staff and get a sneak peek of what to expect in January. We’re so excited to share our experience visiting the Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres (GP) and TRS Coral resorts with you all.
Arrival & Customs

Arrival & Customs

After landing, we breezed through customs with nothing to declare — quick and easy. Once outside, you’ll walk past a lively line of vendors calling out offers (tip: just keep walking — your driver will be waiting outside in a covered parking lot). Expect a short wait for your ride, then about a 45-minute drive to the resort. ✨ Donna will share more info on transfer schedules as we get closer to the wedding!

Checking In

Checking In

TRS Coral and Grand Palladium have separate lobbies, so double-check which side you’re booked on. The good news: once you’re checked in, the two sides flow together and you’ll barely notice the border. * TRS Coral is adults-only, with extra perks. There are additional restaurants, and each floor has its own butler (yes, a real person!) who will even set you up on WhatsApp to make requests super easy. * Grand Palladium is family-friendly, with the same gorgeous setting and great food.

Food & Drinks

Food & Drinks

We took our research duties very seriously (you’re welcome 😉). Standouts? The Italian spot, the sushi bar, and the hibachi experience. Honestly, there wasn’t a bad meal the entire trip. Our only complaint? Portions were huge, so we couldn’t try more! A pleasant surprise: while many restaurants have a small buffet element, every spot we tried had full à la carte menus. It never felt like the “big buffet line” vibe — much more like restaurant dining.

The Room

The Room

We stayed in a garden view room, the lowest tier, and it was fantastic. * Wristbands double as your room key, which makes life so much easier. * Each room has a huge shower and bathtub, plus shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. * The bed was super comfortable (a big win). * The A/C runs in Celsius — but don’t worry, there are Australian’s on hand who love converting numbers as Aussies see math problems as the highest form of love language.

Resort Life

Resort Life

The grounds are stunning and perfect for walking — just bring comfortable flats. Expect plenty of iguana sightings 🦎 (plus a few adorable cats). * Download the resort app — it’s a lifesaver for menus, room service, and daily activities. * On TRS, your butler will also send you the daily schedule. We joined bingo one night and had a blast! * The spa is incredible. We tried a couple’s massage with hydrotherapy and loved it. Wedding guests will have access to special spa rates, so let us know if you’d like to book something!

Helpful Tips

Helpful Tips

* While it’s all-inclusive, there are plenty of premium add-ons (fancier wines, Red Bull, sake, pool beds, etc.). * Download the hotel app and WhatsApp. The butler will use WhatsApp to communicate with you and the food menus are all in the app. * Cash tips go a long way. While not required, we wish we had brought more small bills to tip with. * A Yeti or insulated cup is perfect for keeping drinks cold by the pool. A pool bag makes life easier too. * We’d recommend bringing closed toe shoes to access the tennis courts and gym.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

We’re officially counting down — just four months to go! After seeing the resort firsthand, we’re even more confident this is going to be such a fun, memorable trip. Between the gorgeous setting, amazing food, and plenty of chances to relax, we can’t wait to share it all with you.
