Lindsay and Jesse first met on a summer evening at Lindsay's Tanta Lauri and Uncle Steven's house after Jesse's recreation league basketball game. However, we didn't actually talk that night, just admired from afar. After that night, Lindsay told her Uncle Steven that Jesse was cute and if he wanted to set them up, she would not say no. A week later, Uncle Steven delivered when he called his son Blake to ask if he wanted lunch from Italia Deli (a local spot for great sandwiches). Jesse and Blake were together, so Blake asked if they would buy Jesse lunch as well. Lindsay's uncle said sure, as long as he took Lindsay out on a date. Jesse, a little bit surprised, agreed to take her out! To get to know Lindsay better before officially asking her out, Jesse decided to come to a concert in the park with her extended family a few days after talking with Lindsay's uncle. Lindsay and Jesse hit it off and enjoyed each others' company, despite Lindsay's entire family essentially chaperoning the outing. After the concert that night, Jesse asked Blake for Lindsay's number and the next day left a message asking Lindsay out (a message she still has on her phone).

Jesse proposed to Lindsay at the same park (Chumash park in Agoura Hills) where they first hung out six and half years before. Under the ruse of celebrating Jesse's birthday, which was a few days later, Jesse decided they should go to Zuma beach with a sushi picnic (courtesy of Nobu). When Jesse and Lindsay were heading back home after their picnic, they received a call from Lindsay's sister, Jordan, who was watching our seven month old puppy while we were out celebrating. She informed them that they had gone to the park and they should come pick her up from there. Lindsay and Jesse agreed and drove to Chumash. Once there, Jesse suggested they take a photo since they were dressed up and looked nice. Lindsay starting to get suspicious agreed. After a few photos, Jesse got down on one knee and asked Lindsay to marry him. In true Lindsay fashion, she initially responded "yeah" even though she was reminding herself to say "yes." The excitement continued throughout the day! Lindsay and Jesse took more photos and then headed to Lindsay's parents house where Jesse and Lindsay's mom, Paula, had arranged a Zoom call with her extended family. Lindsay and Jesse ended their day at Jesse's parents house where they celebrated more with Jesse's family over dinner.
