When should I arrive?

Please arrive at 4:30 PM. The ceremony starts promptly and we'd hate for you to miss it! Head straight to the South Lawn and grab a seat.

How should I get there?

Answer

We're at Marina Village, 1904 Quivira Way, San Diego, CA 92109. We highly suggest a rideshare since there's an open bar. Have your driver drop you at the main entrance. If you do drive, there's plenty of parking right at Marina Village, and it's fine to leave your car overnight if you'd rather not drive home.

How will the weather be?

Answer

Octobers in San Diego can be particularly splendid and so our Ceremony will be outdoors to enjoy it! It can sometimes still lean towards the warmer side of things here in early fall and we suggest lightweight fabrics. Although, of course, it is best to check the weather beforehand! Heel protectors and hand fans will be available to keep you comfortable! Once the sun goes down by the water it cools off quickly, and the patio bar stays open all night, so bring a light jacket or wrap!

Do not fret! Text dear old Jonny boy Babayev (the groom) at 619-417-9999 as soon as you can so we can let our caterer know. Dinner is a family-style Persian feast, so there's plenty to go around.

What the HECK is formal attire?

Answer

Formal attire is requested. Men, please wear suits; women, knee to floor length dresses. Check out this article! It is super helpful: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire The ceremony is on grass, so block heels or flats are your best friends. We'll have heel protectors too. Everything happens at Marina Village, a short walk apart. If anyone in your group needs a little help getting around, let us know and we'll make sure they have a good seat.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony. Please keep phones and cameras away until we've walked back down the aisle. Our photographer has it covered, and we'd much rather see your faces than your screens.
