Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Robert Byrd and Noelle Smiley
Welcome to Philadelphia, Philly, the City of Brotherly Love! This year marks 250 years since the Declaration was signed - right here in Philadelphia. Honor it by visiting one of it's many vibrant neighborhoods.

Center City

Broad Street & Market Street, Philadelphia, PA

Reading Terminal Market: One of America's largest and oldest public markets. Our favorite vendors: Beiler’s Doughnuts, DiNic’s, The Original Turkey, Miller’s Twist Rittenhouse Square: where Robert proposed last November - one of our favorite parks. LOVE Park: Home to the famous LOVE statue, and right in the middle between Logan Square, a fountain you can actually splash around in (and seen in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and City Hall, current home to the Portal! Oyster House: Our favorite date night spot. Surprisingly, one of the best burger’s in the city - and Robert’s favorite Old Fashioned! The Mutter Museum: Austin isn’t the only city that keeps it weird. This one’s for fans of the macabre and medical oddities. Goldie: Our favorite place for falafel and tehina shakes!

Fairmount & Brewerytown

Fairmount Avenue & Pennsylvania Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19130

Philadelphia Museum of Art & Rocky Steps: Just a few minutes walk from where we live, you can stroll the halls of artwork or race to the top of the steps, like Rocky Balboa. Eastern State Penitentiary: Steve Buscemi is the voice of the audio tour - what more do you need to know? Sport Burger: Don’t let the name fool you - some of the best cheesesteaks in all the city! Rival Bros Coffee: Just a walk down the road from where we live. You’ve gotta try their toasts and sandwiches, and hang out in their co-working space. Boathouse Row & Kelly Drive: The place to be for a beautiful sunset walk in the City of Brotherly Love.

Old City

Chestnut Street & 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Liberty Bell & Independence Hall: As the country celebrates 250 years, check out the place where it all started - in the rooms where it happened! United States Mint: The tour is free and short, but surprisingly fun. Don’t sleep on the short movie too! Elfreth's Alley: The oldest continuously inhabited street in the country. A Four Foot Prune: One of our favorite quirky thrift shops - filled with tons of Jim Henson memorabilia and local Philly merch. Khyber Pass: A great pub with a good beer selection and tasty food.

South Street

South Street & 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Retrospect: Always our first stop for vintage clothes and glassware. Repo Records: Best place in the city for old and new music. Spread Bagelry: Whether it’s at a Spread or not - you have to have a bagel while you’re in Philly! Spread has a lot of locations all over the city and their bagels are wood-fired Montreal style.

Fishtown

Frankford Avenue & Master Street, Philadelphia, PA

Pizzeria Beddia: We love to stop here while walking around Fishtown and share a pizza, roasted veggies, and a beer. La Colombe Coffee Roasters: This is the one La Colombe you HAVE to go to. It’s the flagship location with coffee classes, huge tables to work from, and great food and drinks. Jinxed Fishtown: A must stop place whenever we’re in Fishtown. Antique and vintage items and furniture - we even bought a couch here! The International Bar: Noelle’s favorite bar in the city. Great drinks and the right kind of vibes.
