Walking along the Malecon is a feel-good area right on the oceanfront, and it’s a fast and easy way to really understand what PV, and even Mexico, is all about. The colors, the sounds, and aromas all take you under their spell, and you can end up just walking around for hours, enjoying a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner, eating and drinking here and there, grabbing souvenirs and shooting photos. Time will just fly by, as it always does when you are really enjoying yourself.
As soon as you arrive in Zona Romántica, you will know why it deserves such an endearing title. The townspeople will happily greet you as they set up shop and excitedly serve you your favorite Mexican treats and handcrafted goods. One of the things we love most about Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone is how seamlessly it combines traditional Mexican culture with modern amenities and influences. As you walk around, you will see a lot of street art, which transforms the cobblestone pathways into a walking museum.
Los Muertos Pier is located at the southern end of the Malecon and has great views of the city and the ocean for get a good view of all the action. The pier resembles a soaring sail that projects 320 feet into the ocean that lights up beautifully at night for perfection photo opportunities.
