While the couple may have both graduated from Zeeland in 2014, Robert at West and Maci at East, they did not cross paths for the first time until June of 2017. Sharing some mutual friends, Maci decided to visit Robert's Electric Forest group campsite- though they are still not confident on if they even spoke to each other that morning. Robert and Maci continued to have these chance encounters at festivals and concerts near and far, crossing paths again and again over the next few years. Often in Grand Rapids, but even in Chicago, and as far as Ohio. Halloween weekend in 2022, Robert decided to reach out to Maci to extend the invitation to go to a concert that evening. Maci had another Halloween party that night but moved some things around to make it to both events- leaving her no other choice but to arrive to Robert's house dressed as Dale from Stepbrothers. The two spent the evening dancing and bonding over their shared love of the EDM culture and community. Unavoidably meeting up with their mutual friends at the concert venue, the night continued to an after party back at Robert's house where they shared their first kiss in the kitchen. That night forward, the two were inseparable and have seen each other almost every single day since. Now entering into their fourth year, they have spent their time learning, growing, and falling in love more and more each day and are so excited to be taking this next step of marriage together.
