We met through E-Harmony. We started talking in August 2022 and were talking for about a month over some lengthy texts before we actually met in person. Our first date consisted of bowling followed by some food at Chili's and a nice walk and conversation around a local park lake. Now, Rob will insist that I tried to ditch him after the third date, which is not entirely false. However, we continued to hang out and I came to my senses realizing that Rob was, is, and always will be my person. So, we made it official in February 2023.
Rob and I have a continuous debate over which date is the best day ever - March 13th or August 22nd. Rob's family tends to celebrate birthdays on the weekend when everyone can be present. This year, Rob insisted we celebrate his birthday on his actual birthday, which happened to fall on a Wednesday - the night before an impending heavy snowstorm mind you! This was strange, but we all agreed to it. So, on March 13th we celebrated Rob's birthday. After dinner and dessert, he opened his gifts. After the last gift was opened, his mom surprised us with one final gift. She handed it to Rob who proceeded to open it. I was on the couch and I could not see what he was doing. Rob stood up, turned around to face me and I realized he had a ring in his hands! He said, "The only thing that I want for my birthday is you. I finally found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Will you marry me?" I obviously was in tears because I was not expecting this at all. I couldn't even speak so I nodded yes. And the whole reason Rob chose his birthday to propose was to win the battle that March 13th is the best day ever and I can't argue that. I will say he is not wrong...for now, until October 4, 2025. Touche Rob!
