We understand a lot of people are travelling from overseas and many are making a vacation out of their time in Canada. Kids are absolutely welcome at our wedding, however we are limited on some numbers. We therefore ask you to reach out to us directly if you will be bringing children with you and their ages. We respectfully ask parents to please ensure babies and small children are quiet during our ceremony, or alternatively just have them join us after the ceremony. There will be kids meals available as well as lawn games for both adults and children. Children are not allowed at the late night afters of the wedding in the Portobello starting from 10 pm due to licencing rules of the venue.
Yes, please let us know when you RSVP of food allergies and we will ask the hotel to accomodate. We cannot guarantee certain meals but there will definetly be meal options catering to dietary needs.
We are planning drinks at the Mallard lounge at the Fairmont Chateau the night before the wedding from 4:30 pm. This will be a relaxed casual event. The Mallard lounge also serves delicious bar bites and snacks. We are hoping to head to Rainbow Lake the day after the wedding from 1 pm. There is a free shuttle there from the village. There are sometimes food trucks at the lake and we encourage you to bring picnic food and drinks you wish to enjoy. We are also planning a treat table with our wedding cake to enjoy by the lake so there will be lots of desserts to enjoy!! Please feel free to join us with kids, picnic blankets , water toys, dogs and whatever you feel you would enjoy for a lake day. *Alcohol is technically not permitted at the lake but we usually find it is fine with a bit of discretion. There is also a weekly farmers market on just outside the Fairmont every Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. This is a great place to pick up delicious bites, local crafts and souvenirs.
Please RSVP by May 9th 2025.
We do not have a gift registry. We understand the cost of travelling to our wedding and we are delighted you can make it. Your presence is our gift! For those that do wish to give something, there will be a space at the wedding to leave cards, gifts or contributions to our planned honeymoon to Italy in 2026. Thankyou!

Yes. Our dress code is smart. Blacktie is not necessary. While the weather is always variable in the mountains, Whistler is usually hot and dry around August.
There is self service or valet parking available at the Fairmont for a fee. Please discuss this with the hotel directly.
Whistler is bear country and you may well encounter a bear. There are multiple bear aware websites you should check out if this is your first time to Whistler. Below is a synopsis of what to do if you do encounter a bear. Rest assured though that the majority of the Whistler bears are not bothered by us and show little to no interest in us. What to Do if You See a Bear? Stop, speak in a calm voice and back away slowly. Check the area for bear cubs and other bears as you do. Never go near a bear cub, as it may provoke the mother bear to attack. DO NOT RUN as it could trigger the bear’s natural instinct to chase. Raise your arms above your head to look as big as possible. Bear spray is recommended for hiking. It is available to rent or buy at the Whistler Hardware Store and other outlets.
