The Proposal

6.24.23

For months, Robbie researched every detail from the ring to the exact spot he would propose. Due to Hayley's love for flowers, Robbie chose to propose at the Heritage Museum and Gardens on the Cape. While Hayley ventured to Omaha, NE for her first client visit, Robbie meticulously planned out the final touches of a fairytale proposal. Robbie secretly visited the Gardens with his mother to walk the grounds and scope out the perfect spot to get on one knee. With the perfect engagement ring and a deserving backdrop selected, only one problem remained. The Gardens were over an hour from the Bakers' Cape house in Wellfleet which meant Robbie needed to find a way to get Hayley there without her catching on. With this in mind, Robbie told Hayley his gardening enthusiast neighbor in the Cape gifted the couple tickets to the Gardens. To lessen the chance of any suspicion, Robbie made lunch plans with his long-time friend, Griffin, in Hyannis (more than halfway to the Gardens from Wellfleet). Despite rainy skies all morning, the sun started to peek through as Hayley and Robbie drove from lunch to the Gardens. Robbie and Hayley entered the Gardens and he casually led the way to the beautiful flower wall where he had decided he would propose. As Robbie and Hayley approached, a photographer hid and waited for their arrival. Robbie got down on one knee and asked Hayley to spend the rest of her life with him, to which she happily said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Charlottesville!
